Every voice matters, every vote counts, and we are STRONGER TOGETHER!

My journey to this moment has been one of determination, resilience, and unwavering belief in the American dream.

I am a first-generation immigrant from Kenya and have called Minnesota and the Brooklyns home for over 20 years. I graduated from Cooper High School and earned three Bachelor's degrees and an MBA all from Bethel University. I have built a career in data privacy and data protection, while my true passion has been organizing within the community to meet the needs of all residents. My wonderful husband, Bart, and I have the honor of raising our beautiful children Jaydah Rae and Jardan Philip in Brooklyn Park.

My father came to this country as a student in the early 80s. For 11 years, he fought within our challenging immigration system, eventually facing imminent deportation. With only 48 hours remaining, a coalition of churches petitioned Senator Paul Wellstone who stepped in and lobbied on my family’s behalf. At the last moment, the court overturned the deportation order.

Senator Wellstone proved himself a man of the people and that is why my family now calls America home. He inspired me to serve the community by running for office and proved that when good people run, lives are changed for the better.

I am seeking to serve this community as your next representative out of a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunities this community and this state have afforded my family and me. I have witnessed the beauty of diversity and the power of unity. I have also witnessed the struggles and triumphs of those who sought a better life here in Minnesota, as my family did.

I feel called to represent the hopes and dreams of all residents who contribute to the fabric of this district. 38A is the most racially diverse district in this state, and I believe our diversity makes us strong and our shared dreams bind us together. Our collective aspirations should guide our policies.

I have a deep understanding of the challenges we face as a community. As your representative, I will continue to work tirelessly to bridge divides, foster understanding, and enact policies that represent all of us. I will serve as a voice for those who have felt left out and those who yearn to be heard.

I believe that the American dream is not reserved for the privileged; it is a dream we can all share. We all want a thriving, healthy, and safe community where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. I will be a leader who values inclusion in all forms, equal opportunity, and justice for all.

I am running for office to honor the shared values that have drawn people to America from around the world, and to ensure that the American dream is attainable, in this district, in this state, now and for generations to come.

Thank you, and may we continue, united, to strive for a brighter future, because we are always...STRONGER TOGETHER!
